    • Licensed Dietitian – State of New Hampshire
    • University of Maine, Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition
    • University of Maine, Master of Science in Human Nutrition, Dietetic Internship
    • Certified Lactation Counselor

My Experience

I have been practicing in the field of dietetics since 2017 in both community and individualized counseling settings, including work as a nutrition coordinator for several nonprofit organizations. For the past three years, I have been working directly within the specialty of eating disorders, supporting those in their recovery from eating disorders, disordered eating, and chronic dieting.

And when I’m not working, it’s almost guaranteed that I’m snuggling my two cats, Milo & Oats, spending time outside with my friends and family, planning my next trip (I love to travel!), laughing at random puns, or . . . eating cheese!

I so appreciate our time together – Marissa is so wise and she’s helped me to appreciate my body again and not be at war with it!

Meet Marissa Campbell, Registered Dietitian at New Roots

As a Registered Dietitian, I am focused on helping individuals move toward a life free of food and body obsession. I feel passionately about getting to know you, meeting you where you are and working as your teammate in your recovery from disordered eating or an eating disorder.

My own relationship with food was most challenging in middle school. I was sucked in by comparison and food and exercise started to feel complicated in ways it hadn’t before. With support, I was able to work through my challenges.

What I Do

I value the opportunity to work with and empower you in breaking up with diet culture and finding a life of food freedom and body peace. I look forward to the chance to create a safe space to explore and understand your individual goals and reassure you that you do not have to do this on your own. Using evidence-based information, I am here to help debunk myths, answer questions and support you in what serves you as an individual in living your best life!

With all the noise in our culture around food, nutrition, and movement, I work to help you shift from being harmed by negative external influences to becoming more attuned to your own innate internal influences to help reestablish trust with your body. As a Health At Every Size-aligned dietitian, I utilize a mix of approaches unique for you including:  Intuitive Eating and Motivational Interviewing.
