My Professional Experience

I am a licensed Registered Dietitian with experience across many areas of nutrition and dietetics, including clinical nutrition, research, consulting, inpatient and outpatient nutrition counseling, and private practice.

I have also worked across the different levels of eating disorder treatment, including residential care, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and outpatient care.

I am committed to ongoing education and professional growth in the field of eating disorders, with a particular interest in ARFID and the complex ways that nutrition, physical and mental health, behavior, and social well-being intersect.

Above all, I feel privileged to support individuals and families as they work toward greater nourishment, flexibility, confidence, and freedom with food and eating.

Meet Ryanne Haskell, Registered Dietitian at New Roots

I am a compassionate Registered Dietitian dedicated to helping individuals heal and improve their relationship with food, eating, movement, and their bodies—and ultimately, their lives.

I use a holistic, weight-inclusive approach to nutrition counseling, recognizing that effective care means looking at the whole person rather than focusing solely on weight or physical health.

My work is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and respect for each client’s unique experiences, needs, and goals. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard and supported throughout treatment and recovery.

What I Do

I work with individuals and families across the lifespan, from children through adulthood. I provide nutrition counseling for disordered eating and eating disorders, including Anorexia Nervosa (AN), Bulimia Nervosa (BN), Binge Eating Disorder (BED), Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorders (OSFED), and Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID).

While I work with the full range of eating disorders and disordered eating, I have a particular interest in ARFID.

ARFID can look very different from person to person. Food avoidance or restriction may be related to sensory sensitivities, fear of aversive consequences, low appetite or interest in eating, or a combination of these experiences. I work with clients and families to understand what may be contributing to difficulties with food and eating and to develop strategies that support both nutritional adequacy and greater flexibility.

Other Place You’ll Find Me

I enjoy all that Maine and New Hampshire have to offer year-round. In the summer, you’ll often find me on or near the water, and in the winter, on the ski slopes. I also enjoy yoga, hiking, and exploring the amazing food along the coast of Maine.
