Meet Robin Gardiner, Registered Dietitian at New Roots

As a Registered Dietitian, I am passionate about helping people nourish a healthy relationship with food, movement, and their bodies.  I love collaborating with clients to personalize their journey, guiding and empowering them to learn to trust their bodies and tune out the external noise.

Through my own personal experience of unlearning a lifetime of engaging in diet culture and body shame and nourishing my own relationship with food and my body, I became committed to helping others find a similar path. This was solidified for me when I began to learn that diet culture is even more harmful to those with marginalized identities: people in larger bodies, people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, and disabled people.

Other Places You’ll Find Me

While in school to become a dietitian, I learned a little about lactation and became fascinated and decided to also pursue becoming a lactation consultant. I see a lot of commonalities between lactation and nutrition: societal pressure and misinformation leading to anxiety and guilt. When I’m not at New Roots, I’m helping new parents find the right path for them with breast/chestfeeding.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking and baking, traveling, yoga and cross-country skiing, and spending time outside – especially in the Maine summer!
